Week 7

I now have a Library Thing Account and have begun to enter my favorite books. It is a fun site. I think this will be a great resource for me when I am deciding on books for the library's book discussion group. It is also a great resource for my personal reading choices. There could be an overwhelming amount of information for those with little patience in searching. I listed Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson as one of my books and one book that Suggester reccommended that fits into my profile is Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. I would also agree because I have read it and loved it.

Week Six - Flickr

After some confusion I posted a picture that I found on Flickr. I can see that the library could use this in many ways. We could have pictures of recent programs as an advertizement for future activities. It would show the public that the library is a happening place. I would also use this in my personal life to share pictures with family and friends. It's great

December is almost here and it feels like winter already. Even though the cold is uncomfortable for most of us, the views are fabulous. Here is a picture from Aurora, WI that is truly a wonder.

Week 4 P.S.

I can see that the feedback can be a valuable tool for libraries. We are always thinking about the changes we should make or better yet, the changes that the patrons would like to see take place. Most people will complain to each other about any business or service, but few will tell the individual organization about the problem. This is a very good oportunity to learn what your patrons are thinking and since it is anonymous, there is a better possibility of comments.

Week 4

I changed my blog settings to moderate the comments. The directions were easy to follow and now I will wait for the comments to come flowing in. I seem to be having trouble keeping up with Project Play and those of us at our library wished we had two weeks on each lesson. We are hanging in there however.

Bloglines in week three

Whew! I did it. I have created my blogline and have 12 newsfeeds. They are all related to libraries, news, word of the day and knitting. You now have a good idea of who I am. I am finding these assignments a little challenging, but that is good for all of us. Right? I am learning new things and taking some giant steps into a new world.
